The Brookhaven and Chamblee police departments are part of a task force designed to fight gang and drug crime in DeKalb County.
The U.S. Department of Justice recently granted nearly $500,000 to combat gang violence and drug crime in DeKalb County, according to the Chamblee police department.
The funds will be used to form the DeKalb Project Safe Neighborhoods Task Force, which will be coordinated by the Atlanta U.S. Attorney’s Office. DeKalb's police department is also a member of the task force.
